SafePal S1 Hardware Wallet is built with a lithium battery. One of the nature of a lithium battery is that if the battery is not charged regularly, its life could reduce gradually. In order to maintain the best working condition of the lithium battery, we recommend charging the SafePal wallet at least once every 3 months. Even if the battery is out of service eventually, the SafePal S1 device can still function normally by plugging into a computer using a USB cable.

How to check if my S1 hardware wallet is charging?

When the battery is fully charged, the battery logo is white, and the lightning label will not be displayed when the USB cable is inserted. If the battery is dead, the battery symbol is yellow, and insert the USB cable will have a lightning symbol.

When the S1 device is OFF, it won't display the lightning symbol beside the battery icon. This does not affect the normal charging of the device.

Useful hints to solve the charging issue on a S1 hardware wallet

  • If you are using a S1 hardware wallet for the first time, please charge it for at least 24 hours.

  • Replace the charging cable with another functional USB cable and try charging again
